WOMAN DIED SUNDAY
AT HOME OF HER SON
Mrs. Margret May, 94, oldest resident of Stacyville, died Sunday, September 4, 1949, at the home of her son, Leo May. She was buried in the church cemetery at Meyer.
Margaret Hemann, daughter of Nicolas and Anna Hemann, was born February 27, 1855, at Johnsburg, Illinois. She came to Iowa with her parents in May 1855.
In November 1878, she was united in marriage to Bernard May. To this union eight children were born, four of whom survive. They are Sister Mary Adlebert Christina of Dubuque, Henry, Lee and Matilda. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Rose Durben of Stacyville; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
