An old gentleman names Hans Wambeam, who years ago lived four miles south of St. Ansgar, on the place now owned by Nels Larson, was brought here from Devils Lake, N.D., for burial last Friday and was buried in the cemetery on the Lohn farm, south of town. He was about 92 years of age and left here thirty or thirty-five years ago. His remains were accompanied by his son-in-law, Ole Thon of Devils Lake at whose home he died and his son, John of Des Moines, and Halle of Deer Creek, Mn.

#2:Mr. Wambeam, whose home was in North Dakota, was brought home for burial. The funeral was held here at the N.L. church Friday morning. Rev. Waldeland conducted the service. Interment was made in the N.L. cemetery.

#4:Hans Halvorsen Wambeim (Wambeam) was born January 29, 1824 at Norway. Hans emigrated to Wisconsin in 1847. He married Britha Aadsdatter Himle on April 15, 1855 at Spring Prairie, Walworth, Wisconsin. The couple had 8 children.
Found in the 1860 census at Leeds, Columbia, Wisconsin: Hans Halverson 34, Betsey Halverson 27, Halvor D Halverson 2.
Family moved to Rock township, Mitchell County, Iowa about 1863 or 1864.
Found in the 1870 census at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa: Hans Holverson 40, Betsey Holverson 37, John Holverson 9, Emma Holverson 3/12.
1880: Hans Halverson 56, Betsy Halverson 47, John Halverson 19, Amanda Halverson 10, Helver Halverson 5, Maria C. Nelson 17 (Randvi's daughter and Betsy's niece), Betsy C. Nelson 74 (Betsey's mother).
Found in the 1895, 1900 censuses at Barton, Worth, Iowa:
1895: Ole Thon 27, Emma Thon 24, Mabel Thon 0, Hans Wambeam 70.
1900: H A Wambeam 25, Hans Wambeam 76. Says he emigrated 1847, widowed.Found in the 1910 census at Adams, Mower, Minnesota: Ole I Thon 42 [52], Emma Thon 39, Iva B Thon 13, Ada O Thon 11, Clifford L Thon 9, Viola M Thon 3, Hans Warnbeam 85 (father in law).
Hans Halvorson (or Halvorsen, Wambeim or Wambeam) died January 18, 1916 at Devil's Lake, Ramsey, North Dakota. He was buried at either the Riverview Cemetery, Newburg, Mitchell, Iowa or First Lutheran at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.
