CONDUCT RITES FOR AGED WOMAN
DEATH PARTS COUPLE MARRIED
NEARLY SIXTY-EIGHT YEARSRites for Mrs. Knud Williams, 88, who died at her home here last Thursday, were conducted from the First Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. Olaf Langehough in charge. Mrs. Williams had been in feeble health for several years and became seriously ill last Wednesday.
Oline Hersgaard Williams, daughter of Halver and Randi Hersgaard, was born April 7, 1847 in Rock county, Wisconsin. She was baptized by Pastor C.L. Clausen in the Luther Valley church and was confirmed in the same church by Pastor C.F. Magellson.
She was united in marriage to Knud Williams May 30, 1868 and to this union nine children were born, four of whom preceded their mother in death.
In the spring of 1871 the young couple moved to Iowa and settled on a farm north of St. Ansgar. In 1908 they moved to St. Ansgar where they had since resided. Mr. and Mrs. Williams had enjoyed an exceptionally long period of matrimony, having lived together nearly 68 years.
She is survived by her husband, five daughters, Mrs. Maria Springer of Charles City, Mrs. Hattie DeLaney of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Gena Palmer, Mrs. Minnie Hofland, and Ida Bould, both of St. Ansgar. Two sisters, twelve grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren also survive. All the children were present at the funeral.

MRS. WILLIAMS, 88, IS BURIED IN ST. ANSGAR; RITES HELD AT CHURCH
St. Ansgar, Iowa – Funeral services were conducted at the First Lutheran church Tuesday for Mrs. Knud Williams, 88, who died from infirmities of old age. Mrs. Williams was the youngest of the three living sisters, the other sisters being 92 and 95 years old.
Mrs. Williams was born at Orfordville, Wisconsin, April 7, 1847. She was married in 1868. They came to Iowa in 1871 and settled on a farm north of town, and moved to town in 1908.
She is survived by her husband, 91, five daughters; Mrs. Maria Springer; Mrs. Hattie Delaney; Mrs. Gene Palmer; Mrs. Minnie Hofland; and Mrs. Ida Gould; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Those from away to attend the funeral were C. J. Hesgard; H. N. Hesgard; C. N. Brunsvole; Clarence Gilbertson, Orfordville, Wis.; Mrs. Hattie Delaney and son Knox of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Springer and son, Cyrus; and Mrs. Kenneth Springer, Charles City; Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Sanden, Lake Mills; Mr. and Mrs. Gilmore Williams of Goldfield; Mrs. Oliver Blakestad; Mrs. Teaman Williams, Lyle; Arnic Cluckason and son of Kensett; Mrs. Amundson, Montevideo, Minn.; Mrs. Walter Frederickson, Cedar Falls.
