AT ROCHESTER
Funeral services for Karl Gerhart, 58, of Austin, Minnesota, and formerly of Stacyville, were held June 21 at St. Augustine church in Austin, with Rev. F.A. McCarthy officiating. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery at Austin. Mr. Gerhart died June 18, 1949, at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester.
Karl Frederick, son of Lewis and Katherine Gerhart, was born November 2, 1890, on a farm near Adams, Minnesota. where he lived until the age of 12. Then his parents moved to Stacyville where he attended and graduated from the public school, later attending Upper Iowa University at Fayette.
In 1931 he married Mary Ann Weber in the Cathedral at St. Paul. They established their home in Stacyville and in 1946 moved to Austin where he and his brother, Alvin, were active in the insurance business.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mary Jane; one son, Karl Frederick Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Voss of Osage and Mrs. Matie Miller of Waukegan, Illinois; and a brother, Alvin of Austin.
