EARNEST MCFARLANDFuneral services for Earnest McFarland, 70, will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at 1 o'clock at the Champion Funeral Home. Rev. O. Mellquist, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Steartville, Minnesota, cemetery. Mr. McFarland died about midnight Tuesday night at his home in Osage.
He was born October 15, 1878, and lived in Osage all his life, except for five years spent in Stewartville. He spent his life dehorning cattle and shearing sheep.
Mr. McFarland's father died when he was a boy. His father was a tutor in Mitchell. His mother was a Lashbrook and died about 12 years ago. A half-sister also preceded him in death.
Surviving are two half-sisters, Mrs. Dale Carrinson** of Osage, and Mrs. Pearl Wolf of Stewartville. Ralph Carrison of Osage is a half-nephew of Mr. McFarland.
