Funeral services for Harvey Warrington, 95, of Osage, who died February 13, 1989, at St. Mary's hospital, Rochester, Minnesota, were held February 16 at Our Savior's Lutheran church, Osage, with the Rev. Joseph Nesheim and the Rev. Dennis Hanson officiating.
Mr. Warrington was born December 3, 1893 in Mitchell County, to Daniel and Nancy (Sweet) Warrington. He received his education in rural schools in the Osage area. The family moved to Salem, Ore. in 1902 and moved to Perry, Kan. in 1905. They returned to Little Cedar in 1912.
He was married to Lillie Gunderson at St. Ansgar on October 6, 1920. She died March 30, 1937.
He then married Hope Altes on September 11, 1941, at Mason City. They farmed until 1964 when they retired and moved to Osage.
Mr. Warrington was a World War II veteran serving with the Army in France. He was a life long member of American Legion Post 278 at Osage and also a member of Our Savior's Lutheran church, Osage.
Memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Home or Our Savior's Lutheran church, Osage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, two brothers and one grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Hope of Osage; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lucile) Gunsallus of Osage; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Jim (Dorris) Keen of Perris, California, and Mrs. Jane King of Charles City; one son, Harold of Glendale, Arizona; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Military rites will be conducted by the Osage American Legion Post 278 and Osage Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 7920. Burial was in the First Lutheran church cemetery, St. Ansgar.
