Thomas C. Armstrong, 62, of McIntire died Tuesday, February 20, 1990 near McIntire, where he was killed in a one-car accident.
Services took place on Friday, February 23, 1991, 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer, Iowa with Rev. Carl J Manternach, pastor of Stacyville, Meyer and McIntire parishes, officiating. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery in Riceville.

Thomas was born March 29, 1927 in Howard County to Joseph and Margaret (O’Connor) Armstrong. He attended school in Howard County. He married Norma Kulsrud and from this marriage came five children. Thomas was an owner and operator of trucks. He attended St. Mel’s Catholic Church in McIntire and was a member of the American Legion. He received an honorary discharge from the Navy.

Survivors include his wife Norma of McIntire; children Mrs. Greg (Deborah) Conger and Mrs. Brian (Thomasine) Conger of Riceville, Rosemary and Amy Armstrong of Rochester ; Minnesota and Scott Armstrong of Denver, Colorado; a brother Robert Armstrong of West Plains, Missouri; a sister, Mrs. John (Margaret) Malone of Chicago, Illinois and six grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents (Joseph died in a hospital at Waterloo, Iowa and Margaret died in a car accident), brothers Virgil, Casnor and Gerald Armstrong; and sisters Mrs. Chester (Marion) Decker and Mrs. Thomas (Rosemary) Ball.

Conway Funeral Home of Riceville was in charge of arrangements.
