Visitation for 56-year-old Stephen A. Satern of Columbus Junction, Iowa, was held Friday, February 23, 2001 at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction, Iowa. No funeral services were held. Stephen died suddenly at home of an apparent heart attack. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Private burial will be at a later date.
Stephen Alan Satern was born March 10, 1944 in Moline, Illinois to Maynard and Wilma Torgerson Satern. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Leibfried, May 1, 1965 in Spring Valley Minnesota.
Stephen had worked as a machine operator at the Rexam Release Company, Iowa city, Iowa since October of 1985. Stephen like to restore automobiles and in the past had liked to hunt.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Betty, Columbus Junction, two daughters Sheila Jones and her husband Brian, Columbus Junction,. Daphne Buser and her husband, Jamey, Conesville; five grandchildren, Jacob, Sam, Steven, Jones, Tiffany and Cody Buser. Also surviving are his parents, Maynard and Wilma Satern of Riceville Iowa; a brother, Gary Saturn and his wife, Loretta, Mason City, Iowa, and a sister Kathy Runde, La Plato, Missouri.
Steve was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Satern Anderson.
