Clarence Thorson, 72, of St Ansgar, Iowa, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon of a heart attack while downtown.

He and his sister, Miss Selma Thorson, had lived in St. Ansgar since 1915. He is survived by his sister, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Thursday afternoon

HEART ATTACK FATAL TO
CLARENCE THORSON, SON
OF PIONEERS

Clarence Thorson, 72, of St. Ansgar, died of a heart attack while in the telephone office in St. Ansgar Tuesday afternoon.

Funeral services will be held at the First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar this afternoon at 1:30, with the Rev. Olaf A. Langehough in charge. Burial will be in the First Lutheran cemetery.

Mr. Thorson was the son of pioneer parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thor Thorson, who came to St. Ansgar shortly after Rev. Clausen and his pioneers came to settle and establish the old Newburg townsite and St. Ansgar. Mr. Thorson was a historian of note in the St. Ansgar community.

Mr. Thorson, a bachelor, is survived only by one sister, Selma Thorson of Northwood. His parents and a sister preceded him in death.
