Charles S. Thompson, son of A. Milton and Enid Thompson, was born December 7, 1930 near Chester, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from Chester High School.

Chuck served with the United States Air Force for over 14 years.

In June of 1966, he was united in marriage to Jean St. Pierre at Des Moines, Iowa.

He passed away at his home in Des Moines on November 25, 1969 at the age of 38 years, 11 months and 18 days.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Jean and son, Eric of Des Moines, a son, Charles and a daughter, Cheryl of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a step-daughter, Gail (Mrs. Dale Fisher) of Hartford, Iowa, his mother, Mrs. Enid Thompson of LeRoy, a brother, Dean Thompson of Riceville, Iowa, three sisters; Donna (Mrs. Donald Hanson) of LeRoy, Gatriel (Mrs. Arthur Zidlicky) of Decorah, Iowa, and Beth (Mrs. Glenn Sheeley) of Maquoketa, Iowa. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father in 1960.

Funeral services were held on November 27, 1969 at the LeRoy Lutheran CHurch at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Martin B. Thompson officiating. Mrs. Darold Yost was the organist with Norman Hanson the soloist. Interment was in the First Lutheran Cemetery at St. Ansgar, Iowa. The LeRoy American Legion Post was in charge of graveside services. Casket bearers were: Pete Quale, Richard Cray, Dale Malcomson, Dennis Hanson, Virgil McGrane, Wayne Shankland. The Martz-Hutchins Funeral Home in LeRoy was in charge of arrangements.
