Laura B. Mostek, age 98, of Mitchell, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Her body was donated to science. Inurnment will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Mitchell at a later date.
Laura was born January 29, 1914, at Thor, Iowa, the daughter of George and Eda (Fleming) Winterton. She attended Mitchell schools. Laura owned and operated a hardware store in Mitchell. She married Jerry Mostek in December of 1933. Laura enjoyed gardening, flowers, watching hummingbirds, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Laura’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who assisted in caring for her.
Laura is survived by her son, Jerome (Pam) Mostek of Mitchell and children, Lisa (Scott) Pollard of Osage and children, Preston, Dusty and Ashley, Jeremy (Katie) Mostek of Osage and children, Katelynn, Makayla and Jerek; her daughter, Lorraine (Glen) Breckenridge of Mitchell and daughter, Shelley Breckenridge of St. Ansgar and children, Stephanie, Britany and Abbie; and one sister, Marcella Ohnemus of Fall Creek, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry; her daughter, Jean Mostek; and eight brothers and sisters.
