Phyllis N. Casey, 83, died Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer. She was born May 28, 1924, in Cresco, Howard county, Iowa, the daughter of William C. and Agnes Zbornik Maravetz.

She married Daniel J. Casey on August 22, 1944 in Osage Iowa. He died May 19, 1996.

She graduated from Rudolphinum High School Protivin in 1941. Phyllis worked for Blacks Dept. Store Chamberlains Blessed Sacrament Rectory and was also a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, John (Linda) Casey of Waterloo; two daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Gallery of Waterloo, and Jan (Tom) Kenoyer of Waxahachie, Texas; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Eunice (Duane) Combs of Houston, Texas; four brothers: Marvin (Marge) Maravetz of Waterloo, Gerald Maravetz of Vienna, Virginia; Lester (Kathy) Maravetz of Westfield, New Jersey; and Gabriel (Collette) Maravetz of Columbia, Maryland.

She was preceded by her parents; her husband; and a sister-in-law Marie Maravetz.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services at the church on Monday.

Memorials may be made to the family.
