C.L. Freiburghaus exhumed the remains of Ole Gunderson last week and shipped them to Osage where they were interred. Mr. Gunderson was buried here about thirty-three years ago.

~Elgin Echo, October 15, 1914

~Notes: Mitchell county -- IAGenWeb cemetery records show that Ole Gunderson, died Sept. 29, 1881, is buried in the Osage City Cemetery, location 0810. Although the contributor of this news item can't be certain, it is likely the same man who died & was originally buried in the Elgin, Fayette county, Iowa, cemetery. Mr. Freiburghaus was probably an Elgin undertaker hired to exhume the body as he is named in other news items exhuming & shipping bodies during the 1900's.
