FLACK, Franklyn L. 1937-2002

Franklyn L. Flack was born on October 11, 1937 in Osage, Iowa, the son of Burnell and Edna (DeWitt) Flack. He married Carol Atkinson on January 25, 1959 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Franklyn was a 1961 graduate of Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) and was a financial advisor with American Express Financial Advisors for over 40 years.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, High 12, the Elks Club, the International Association of Financial Planning and was a charter member of the Financial Advisors Hall of Fame.

Franklyn died Monday, April 1, 2002 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa at 64 years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of Cedar Falls; two sons, Steven and his wife Susan of Cedar Falls and Bradley of Waterloo, Iowa; his mother, Edna of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Audrey and Aidan Flack; a brother, Edwin of Cedar Falls and a sister, Patricia Plueger of Anamosa, Iowa.

Franklyn was preceded in death by his father and a brother, James.

Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2002 at First Baptist Church with burial at Waterloo Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Bend Humane Society in Waterloo and Animal Rescue League in Des Moines, Iowa.
