OSAGE, IOWA - Paul Charles Younker, 82, of Osage died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 31, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with the Rev. Donald Bruggeman officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery with military honors at the gravesite by Osage V.F.W. Post 7920 and Osage American Legion Post 278. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 5:30 p.m.

U.S. VeteranPaul Charles Younker, age 82, of Osage, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Rev. Donald Bruggeman officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery with military honors at the grave by Osage V.F.W. Post 7920 and Osage American Legion Post 278. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 5:30 p.m.
Paul was born June 14, 1930, in Elma, Iowa, the son of Paul Henry and Margaret (Spoden) Younker. Paul graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Elma in 1948. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and received two Bronze Service Stars.
Paul was united in marriage to Sally Eckford on April 19, 1958, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. He owned and operated Paul Younker Plumbing and Heating for many years. Paul was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a life member of both the Osage V.F.W. and the Osage American Legion. He enjoyed music, dancing, and walking and playing with his golden retriever. Paul also enjoyed raising Elk Hounds.
Paul is survived by his wife, Sally Younker of Osage; a sister, Delores (Joe) Spartz of Osage; and a niece, Marilyn Spartz and her daughters, Taylor and Samantha of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
