Ruth M. Larsen, 87, of Iola, Kansas, and formerly of Riceville, Iowa and Osage, Iowa, died on July 5, 1995 at a hospital in Iola, Kansas.
Graveside inurnment services are scheduled for Saturday, July 29, at the Osage Cemetery, Rev. R. Barrick officiating.
Ruth was born on February 14, 1908 in Osage the daughter of Sidney and Emma (Moody) Parker. She graduated from Osage High School and took nurses training in Rochester, Minnesota. Ruth was employed in the Mitchell County Relief Office in Osage; as a nurse for Dr. L.A. Doyle; and a medical secretary at the Cedar Valley Hospital, Charles City.
She married Cliff Larsen in 1956. They lived in California until his death in 1973 and she moved to Osage and later to Riceville. The past 18 months she lived in Iola, Kansas with her son and family. She was a life-long member of the Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Clifford; two sisters, Gladys Parker and Grace Parker; and an infant daughter.
Survivors include a son, James Arthur Myers and wife, Geraldine of Iola, Kansas; a grandson, James Allen Myers, and a granddaughter, Jackie Lynn Thompson both of Iola; four great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
