Lt. Laurence Zizka
Killed in England

Mike Moran has word of the death of his grandson, 1st Lt. Laurence Zizka, who was killed in England February 1. Lieutenant Zizka was a P-51 fighter pilot. He had been based in England six months, and had made many missions.

The message concerning his death read that he died in a plane crash.

He was the youngest son of Mrs. Laura Zizka, who was reared in Osage, and married here to Jack Zizka. They moved to Howell, Michigan a few years after their marriage where Mr. Zizka died seven years ago.

Mrs. Zizka has two other sons in the service - Raymond, now in New Guinea, and Richard, who has just entered the service and is at Memphis, Tennessee. The oldest son of the family, Robert, expects to be inducted in March. He is married and has two boys. Mrs. Ray Cummings, who lives north of Osage is Mrs. Zizka's sister.
