FUNERAL FOR MRS. MARY SCHERSACH

Funeral services for a lifelong resident of the Osage community, Mrs. Mary Schersach, 88, were held Monday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Osage. Mrs. Schersach had been in failing health since August, and was confined to Mitchell County Memorial Hospital where she died Friday afternoon. (Dec. 17, 1965)

The Rev. Father Thomas J. Conroy, church pastor, was in charge of the services. Arrangements were by C. R. Champion and Sons, and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.

Mary Louisa Heal was born January 6, 1877, near Osage, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine Powers Heal. She attended the rural schools in her area.

Her marriage to Fred Schersach of Osage took place Sept. 5, 1906. They established their home on a farm west of Osage. This remained their home until they retired to Osage in 1953. Mrs. Schersach was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart church.

Her survivors include her two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Kelly and Mary Schersach of Osage, and four grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Fred, her parents; two brothers who died in infancy; two sisters, Katherine Heal and Mrs. Anna Rogers.
