Everett Walton Havig

OSAGE, IOWA - Everett Walton Havig, 71, of Osage, died Wednesday, May 22, 1996, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dennis Hanson and the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Everett was born June 7, 1924, at Osage, the son of Frederick and Ida (Hartwig) Havig.

He attended Osage Community Schools and served with the United States Army during World War II from April 14, 1943, to January 5, 1946.

He was employed as a mason for E.B. Christoffersen Construction, at Winnebago Industries and the Mitchell County Maintenance Department. Everett retired in 1986.

He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Everett is survived by two daughters, Marsha Pajer and her husband, Charles, of Osage, and Lori Handahl and her husband, Barry, of Austin, Minn.; a grandson, Scott Pajer of Mason City; a brother, Melbourne Havig of Osage; five sisters, Grace Havig and Dorothy Fleenor of Osage; Leona Richards of Carpenter; June Jahnel of New Haven, and Fern Hughes of Riceville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arnold and Alton; and a nephew, William Havig.

Visitation will be today at the Champion Funeral Home.
