Norma Jean (Stout) McAvoy – January 6, 1927 – July 27, 2010

SOUTH DEERFIELD -- Norma Jean McAvoy, 83, of South Deerfield died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at her home, after a prolonged illness.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edward; children: Diane McAvoy of Lago Vista, Texas, John and wife Judy of Piermont, N.Y., and Jennie McAvoy and husband Bart Landenberger of Deerfield; six grandchildren, Travis and Alison King, Sage and Lauren McAvoy and John and Amelia Landenberger, and a sister, Berda Rittenhouse of Milford, N.J.

For the love and care shown to Norma, the McAvoy family is especially indebted to Ellen Villani of Greenfield and to the staff of Hospice of Franklin County.

A memorial fund in her name has been established at Hospice of Franklin County, 329 Conway St., Greenfield, MA 01301.

Norma Jean Stout was born January 6, 1927 in Little Cedar, Mitchell County, the daughter of John Henry Stout and Thelma Bernice (Harrison) Stout. She died in South Deerfield, Franklin Co., Massachussets.

She married Edward McAvoy, the son of Daniel and Jennie McAvoy.
