Martha A (Clark) Root – December 20, 1859 -- December 20, 1936
MRS. ROOT DIES ON BIRTHDAY
The Rev. F. A. Artz officiated at the Hauser Funeral Home for Mrs. Myrtle Root who died on her seventy-seventh birthday at the home of her daughter; Mrs. A. H. McKinney, 910 Clinton Street.
Mrs. Root suffered from heart trouble and her last illness lasted about a month.
She is survived by three daughters; Mrs. Gail (Herbert) Dodge, Charles City; Mrs. A. H (Mirza) McKinney; Mrs. Marie DeShane, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The body was to be taken to the Orchard Cemetery for interment.

Martha A Clark was born December 20, 1859 in Seward, Winnebago., Illinois, the daughter of Robert W. Clark and Mary (Locke) Clark.
Her parents were married December 23, 1858 in Winnebago Co., Illinois (Ill. Marriage record).
She married William G. Root, the son of Horace Root and Maryette (Gould) Root.

In the 1925 Census, her daughter Mirza McKinney (husband Arthur H. McKinney) was living in Elkador, Clinton, Iowa and her parents are listed as William Root and Martha Clark.
Mirza (Root) McKinney was born April 7, 1883 in Iowa and died July 1977 in Tulsa, Oklahoma ( SS Death Index).
Marie Emma (Root) DeShane was born April 4, 1893 in Iowa and died January 1985 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. (SS death index lists her as Emma)
