George B. Root – June 1852 – December 6, 1930
GEORGE ROOT, 78, IS BURIED AT ORCHARD
Charles City –Dec. 12. – Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Root and Mrs. Dale Lawrence attended the funeral of Mr. Root’s brother, George Root, at Orchard Tuesday.
Mr. Root who was 78 years old, lived in Orchard until four years ago when he went to Minneapolis to live. He died in a hospital there of heart trouble. He was born in New York state and came to Iowa with his parents in the fifties.

Note* the original article said he was 68, but census records and the last sentence saying he came with his parents in the fifties which puts his age at 78.
All census records have his birth place as Canada and his brothers, except for Rowland, born New York.
