Cora M. Brunson was born November 23, 1886 near Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa to Frank C. Brunson and Melissa Patterson Brunson.

Family found in the 1900 census living at Jamestown, Howard, IA: Frank C Brunson 37, Malisia B Brunson 32, Cora M Brunson 12 , Willie H Brunson 6, Guy M Brunson 5, Robert O Brunson 2, Clifford H Brunson 5/12.

Cora married Lee E. Auringer in 1907 at Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa. The couple had one son, Dale L. Auringer (born 1909 at Jamestown, Howard, Iowa, died between 1935-1940 at California from tuberculosis).

Family found in the 1910 census living at Jenkins, Mitchell, Iowa: Lee E. Oringer, 22, Corah M. Oringer, 23, Dale L. Oringer, 1. (Surname later spelled Auringer, both are acceptable.)

The family moved to Black Hawk County, Iowa and possibly about 1919 Cora and Lee divorced.

Found in the 1920 census living at Waterloo, Black Hawk, Iowa: Cora M Oranger 32, son, Dale Oranger, age 11, living at a boarding house.

Believe Cora married Charles Van Riper about 1924 at Iowa and the family moved west to California.

Found in the 1930 census living at Downey, Los Angeles, California: Charles Vanriper, 44, Cora N. Vanriper, 43. (Should be Van Riper).

Cora Brunson, Auringer Van Riper died on December 7, 1971 at Riverside, California and was buried at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Whittier, Los Angeles, California.
