Anton Neis – February 16, 1876 – January 29, 1951

#1:

Anton Neis, 76, died suddenly Monday afternoon while seated in an automobile ready to go to Mason City to visit a friend in Mercy hospital. He complained of not feeling well and died shortly afterward.

His first wife and one son, Gregor, preceded him in death several years ago.

He leaves his second wife and six children, Rae, on the home farm; Julette, Rochester; Mrs. Stella Fritch, Cannon Falls, Minnesota; Mrs. Norbert Findley, Chatfield Minnesota; Mrs. Roman Adams, Meyer, and Miss Regina Neis, at home, 11 grandchildren.

He spent his entire life farming, retiring a few years ago when he moved to Stacyville. He spent several months in a Rochester hospital two years ago.

Funeral will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Visitation church.

Anton Neis was born February 16, 1876 in Mitchell Co., Iowa, the son of Joseph Neis and Angela (Weber) Neis. His first wife was Katherine Simon who died in 1918.

His second wife was Anna Uschold, the daughter of George Uschold and Rosina (Faas) Uschold.

He was buried in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meyer, Mitchell, Iowa. (see tombstone picture on Iowa GPP)
