Born in Stacyville, Iowa on July 3, 1924
Departed on June 2, 2004. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Beatrice G. Tibbetts, 79, of 3812 Foxborough Terrace NE, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, in St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Memorial services at 3 P.M. Saturday in St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Private inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may register at the church after 2:30 PM on Saturday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.

Survivors include three sons Steven and wife Sheila of Appleton, Wisconsin, Kirk and wife Nannette of Urbandale, and Jon and wife Kristine of Dubuque, a brother Jack Gaines of Seattle, Washington, and seven grandchildren, Sara, Cameron, Elizabeth, Noelle, Kelly, Ellen, and Susan Ward and husband Michael.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Beatrice was born July 3, 1924 in Stacyville, Iowa, to Willis and Verna Hill Gaines. She married Merle L. Tibbetts on February 9, 1947 in Osage, Iowa. She worked as a nurse at the Mitchell County Hospital for 12 years and for St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids for 28 years. She was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church.

Her family wishes to thank the staff at Manor Care and at St. Luke's for the wonderful care given to their mother. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Marks United Methodist Church, 4700 Johnson Ave NW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 52405, or to the American Lung Association.
