RITES CONDUCTED
IN OSAGE CHURCH

OSAGE, IOWA - The funeral of John Glassner, 83, was conducted Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church here. Mr. Glassner was found dead in his home by neighbors last week when a light burning throughout the night and day attracted attention.

Two sons, Michael, who lives in Wisconsin, and Isador, of Montana, attended the rites. John of Idaho was unable to come.

Aged Osage Man Found Dead
in Chair in Home

Osage, Iowa — John Glassner, 83, who was found dead in a chair in his home here Thursday when neighbors investigated a light which had been burning for hours and which others recalled seeing most of the night, died from natural causes and no inquest is contemplated, it was stated by officers here Friday.

Apparently Glassner had died Wednesday evening while reading, a book, being found on the floor by his chair under his hand. He was found by Frank Blonigan, a close neighbor, who asked another nearby resident, Henry Knechtges, to go to the home with him

The funeral may be conducted Monday morning if a son en route here from Montana arrives in time

Three sons survive. Isador, Montana, John, Idaho; Michael, Wisconsin There also are a stepson and two stepdaughters, George Helfter, and the Mesdames Gramper, near New
Haven.

Notes:

John was born in 1849, in Luxembourg. He married Clara Bower, and she died in 1906. He later married Katherine Stoeckel (1853-1931), about 1907-09.

Preceded in death by his two wives: Clara and Katherine, and a son, Charles Glassner (1885-1893).

Burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage.
