CHINESE BOY DIES
AT TRAINING CAMP

Harry Poy, of Osage, Iowa, a Chinese boy in the army service, died in camp at Sault St. Marie, Michigan, last week, and the body passed thru Waverly Tuesday on the way back to Osage for burial.

On entering the army, the young man gave as his closest friend G. Y. Doc, the Chinese laundryman of this city, and when the latter was notified of his friend's death, he made arrangements to have the body brought here for burial. But as the deceased had been in business in Osage, the Red Cross Society of that place asked that he be taken there, and this was granted, Doc accompanying the body.

Several weeks ago the young Chinaman was in Waverly, wearing his army uniform, and was very proud of the privilege of serving his adopted country. He was a bright young man, who stood high in the estimation of the people of Osage, and they expressed their friendship and sympathy in asking that he be buried in that city.
