J. H. NOBLE, RICEVILLE, DIES; FUNERAL TUESDAY
Osage – Funeral services were to be held Tuesday at 2 p.m., at the A. G. Dunton home in Riceville for J. H. Noble, 82, who died Saturday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. A. G. Dunton. At 2:30 rites were to be held in the Methodist Church, the Rev. Mervin Russell, pastor of the Free Methodist Church, Minneapolis, officiating. Mr. Russell is a grandson of J. H. Noble. Burial in the Riceville Cemetery.
Mr. Noble was born September 25, 1862, son of Henry and Lydia Noble, near Burlington, Wisconsin. At the age of 22, he was married to Ann Haight, and shortly after their marriage, moved to Jenkins Township, near Riceville. There they lived on the home farm until 1923, after which they lived in Riceville and in California for 8 years.
Mrs. Noble died in 1937 and Mr. Noble made his home with his daughter, Orpha Noble, Mitchell County Superintendent of schools.
Surviving are 3 sons; Floyd and Merwin H. of Riceville; and Ross of Flint, Michigan; 4 daughters; Mrs. A. G. (Ruby) Dunton, Riceville; Orpha Noble, Osage; Mrs. Weston (Merdith) Vinson, Alhambra, California; and Mrs. Paul (Pearl) Potter, Ames.
