OBITUARY:
[Osage News]
Edward Flynn was born in March, 1846 in County Mayo, Ireland, and died at this home in this city June 29, 1907.
He came to this country from Ireland about thirty-six years ago and settled first at Waverly, Iowa, where he began his employment as section hand on the Illinois Central R. R. From Waverly he moved to Orchard and from there he came to this city where he has since resided. For about thirty years Mr. Flynn has been a faithful and trusted employee of the Illinois Central R. R. and for a good many years he was section boss of the Osage section. The past few years however he has been obliged to give up the more active duties on account of failing health.
In January, 1882, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Sullivan and to this union two daughters were born.
During the years of his residence in this city Mr. Flynn has lived an upright and exemplary life. He was a kind and loving husband, a loyal friend, a considerate and accommodating neighbor; and a dutiful and faithful employee.
Funeral services, conducted by Father Martin assisted by Father Barry and Father Nolan, were held at Sacred Heart church Tuesday morning and the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. One daughter, Mrs. Peltier of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was unable to be present at the funeral.
