DAY MERCHANT
DIES IN OSAGEOSAGE, IOWA - Two aged residents of this place died Thursday night. Mrs. S. W. Hastings had lived here for more than 50 years.
She was one of the charter members of the Shakespearean club, and had held offices in the O.E.S. Her late husband was among the first merchants in Osage, and his first store was in a building on east Main Street, known as the Woods Hospital.
She is survived by three sons, George, Woods* and Donald Hastings.

NOTE: An identical obit was in the Mason City Globe-Gazette, Saturday, April 14, 1928
*Note: The newspaper was wrong when it said a surviving son was "Woods." That should have said "William Woods Hastings." See also her husband's obituary. Her husband was Sidney W. Hastings. William Woods hastings was born 1877 in Osage and died in 1949 in South Dakota.
