County Attorney.OSAGE, IOWA, Dec. 3. — Arthur A. Kugler, a former mayor and county attorney of Mitchell county for 10 years, died Saturday night in a sanitarium in Des Moines after a several years' illness due to hardening of the arteries.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Pearl Gardner Kugler, and sons, Clark, Dean and Theodore.
Mr. Kugler was born in Franklin County to G. Kugler and Harriett Eslinger Kugler. He attended rural schools of that county and Nora Springs seminary, where he completed a normal and business course, graduating in 1895. He was graduated from the law college of the state university in 1901 and at once began practice of his profession here.
He was senior member of the law firm of Kugler & Bartlett. He was married in 1902 to Miss Pearl Gardner, of Stacyville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Gardner.
Mr, Kugler was prominent fraternally, having been a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, the Odd Fellows. Knights of Pythias and the Blue lodge of Masons.
His political allegiance was with the Republican party. In 1901 he was elected county attorney, holding that position until 1912, with exception of one year. He then was elected mayor and served in that capacity a number of years.
