Funeral services for an Osage farmer, Garrett Roby, 63, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Champion Funeral Home. Mr. Roby died of a heart attack at his home April 3. The Rev. Robert Floy, pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran church was in charge of the rites and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
Garrett Roby was born September 13, 1912, in Moorefield, W. V., the son of Henry and Bessie Kuykendall Roby. He came to Mitchell county with his family as a child and competed his education in the local schools.
Laura Marcks Beyer and Garrett Roby were married June 10, 1936. He farmed all of his adult life on their present farm north of Osage.
Surviving are his wife, Laura; one son, Gary of Osage; a step-son, Robert Beyer of Rochester; a step-daughter, Mrs. Lindon (Bonnie) Dau of Osage; three grandchildren; his mother; Mrs. Bessie Roby; one sister, Mabel of Osage and one brother, Ralph of Charles City.
Preceding him in death were one daughter, Carol Ann, and his father.
