MRS. LAURA EATON
DIED IN CALIFORNIA

Widow of one of County's Former
Prominent Lawyers -- W. L. Eaton

Mrs. Laura Eaton, for many years a prominent Osage woman, passed away at her home in Los Angeles, California, November 6, 1924, at the age of 76 years.

Mrs. Eaton and her husband, Willard Eaton, were at the time of their residence in Osage, among the most prominent of the townspeople. Mr. Eaton was senior member of the firm of Eaton & Salisbury, and his standing among the lawyers of the state was of the highest, resulting from a long line of legal achievments, and for his kindly, wise judgement.

Mrs. Eaton was no less prominent, socially, giving a great deal of her time and assistance to necessary public affairs, and charitable societies.

Laura Rosina Annis-Eaton, daughter of Ablather W. Annis and Laura Hodskins, was born in Westfield, Vermont, in 1848, November 24.

She came to Osage about 1870, taught in the Osage public schools, and was married September 11, 1874, to Willard Lee Eaton, who preceded her in death in 1911.

They were parents of two sons, Ivan Willard, born February 18, 1882, and who died at the age of two years; and Allen March, born March 15, 1886, and who survives her.

The remains are to be cremated, and [buried beside her] husband in the local cemetery.
