Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 1973 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Riceville for Paul Clarence Marr, 76, who passed away on Sunday, August 5 at the Riceville Commuity Rest Home. The Reverend Father J.W. Bohr officiated at the Requiem Mass.

Mr. Marr was born January 21,1897 at Riceville, Iowa, the son of John and Matilda Marr. He was engaged in farming for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Celia, Riceville; two sons, Merwin, Moline, Illinois and Wilfred John, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Margery) Blackwell, Moline, Illinois and Mrs. Leonard (Lois) Dostart, Mason City, Iowa; 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph, Riceville and Leslie, Lime Springs, and one sister, Mrs. Harry (Hazel) Theis, Harpers Ferry, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Grace Hughes and a sister, Bessie, in infancy; two brothers, Cyrus, 4, and Averay.

Interment was in the Calvery Cemetery in Riceville with the Chisholm-Lindstromm Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
