Funeral services were held on Monday, December 3, 1984, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage for Cecilia Byrnes, 87, who died on Friday, November 30, 1984, at Faith Home in Osage.
Rev. L. Connolly officiated at the service and burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Cecilia was born on May 5, 1897, in New Haven, Mitchell county, Iowa, to James and Catherine McGalloway Byrnes. She graduated from Osage High School in 1916 and worked as a secretary in Grundy Center and Ames before moving to Los Angeles. She worked in Los Angeles for 44 years before moving back to native North Iowa. She returned to Osage in 1981.
Nieces and nephews survive her.
