OSAGE, IOWA — Services for Mrs. Ellen S. Cordes, 79, who died Saturday [12 JUN 1971] at the Faith Home, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church; burial in Osage Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. William Gilles of Mason City and Mrs. Jack Conklin of Osage; three sisters, Mrs. Helga Bollinder of Bell, Calif., Mrs. Olga Fundt of Osage and Mrs. Tillie Halverson of Mona; a brother, Thomas Thompson of Voltaire, North Dakota; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Champion Funeral Home in charge.

DEATH COMES TO
ELLEN CORDES
Funeral services were held in Osage for Mrs. Ellen Cordes, 78, who died Saturday at Faith Home, where she had been a resident for the past eight months.
Rev. I. Kitzmann was in charge of the services Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and burial was in the Osage cemetery. C.R. Champion and Sons made the arrangements.
Ellen Thompson was born on February 17, 1892, at Mona, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Bertia Fossey Thompson. She was educated in the Mona school and attended Cedar Valley Seminary in Osage. She taught school one year.
Albert Cordes and Ellen Thompson were married August 21, 1911. All their married life was spent in Osage.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Jack Conklin . . . . [truncated]

Ellen was preceded in death by an infant son who died at birth in August 1923.
