Funeral services were held on Monday, September 24, 1984 at St. Henry's Catholic Church, Waterton, Wisconsin, for Mrs. Edith Catherine Meitner, 88, who died Thursday, September 20, 1984 at the home of her daughter, following a lingering illness.
Father H. Lauters and Father D. Dushack officiated at the service. Burial was in St. Henry's Cemetery. Pederson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Edith Catherine Popp was born on February 5, 1896 in Osage, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Frank Meitner on June 6, 1922 in Osage. They farmed near Clyman for many years.
She was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church and Christian Mother's and Altar Society.
Mrs. Meitner was preceded in death by her husband, one granddaughter, one brother and a sister.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sylvester (Stella) Weisensel of Columbus, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Eileen Kaun of Hartland, Wis.; one son, Joseph Meither, Madison, Wis.; one brother, John Popp, Osage; three sisters: Mrs. Mary Pelleymounter, Mrs. Anna Meitner, and Elizabeth Popp, all of Osage; sixteen grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
