Esther Borchardt, 75, of Osage, died June 11, 1980, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 14, 1980, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Kit Belk, officiating. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery.

Esther Pauline Elizabeth Schmidt was born March 28, 1905, in Worth County, the daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth (Schilling) Schmidt. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and grew up in the Plymouth-Grafton area.

December 30, 1926, she was married to Lloyd Borchardt of Plymouth and they lived and farmed in the Plymouth area for 25 years. Four children were born to this union. They purchased a farm near Riceville in 1951 and moved to Osage for retirement in 1969 at 1127 Ash Street.

Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Herman, Aldred and Emil; and two sisters, Erma and Elizabeth.

Surviving are her husband, Lloyd, of Osage; one daughter, Arlien (Paul) Walk, Kensett; three sons, Delwin of Mitchell, Darryl of Hiawatha, and Delbert of Riceville; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandson, Aaron Simanton of Hawaii; one brother, Arthur Schmidt of Osage; and three sisters, Edna (Albert) Tabbert, Elsie (Harvey) Felton and Evelyn (Herman) Rekow, all of Osage.
