OSAGE, IOWA — Maurice Smalley, 90, of Osage, died Saturday (April 18, 1998) at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage, with the Rev. Dennis Hanson and the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage, and one hour before services at the church on Saturday.
Maurice Smalley was born on October 10, 1907, on the family farm in East Lincoln Township, Mitchell County, near Orchard.
Survivors include his wife, Marian, of St. Ansgar; four daughters: Marilyn Fischer, of Fresno, Calif., Suzanne Erickson, of Thief River Falls, Minn., Beverly Hamby, Phoenix, Ariz., and Barbara Victor, of Colby, Kansas; four sons: Darrell Smalley, of Bloomington, Minnesota, Robert Smalley, of Osage, Ted Smalley, of Gretna, Nebraska, and Russell Smalley, of Riceville; a sister, Katie Winer, Mankato, Minn.; two brothers, Melborne Smalley, of Orchard, and Merten Smalley, of Clive; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
