Wilhelmine Fredericke Henriette Behl, nee Wartchow, was born December 7, 1862, at Gross Pohel, Pomerania, Germany. At this place she was also received into the Lutheran church by holy baptism. She was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Sellin, September 24, 1876.
On October 27, 1882, she was married to Mr. John Behl. Coming to this country with her husband the following year, the family lived for several years at the following places, Watertown, Wis., Milwaukee, Wis., Whittemore, Iowa, Myrtle, Minn., and since last spring at St. Ansgar. She was the mother of five daughters and four sons, four of the daughters preceding their mother in death.
The deceased was stricken with apoplexy while doing some shopping at Falk's store last Tuesday morning at 10:30 and never regained consciousness, passing away the same evening at 6 o'clock.
Her sudden departure is mourned by her widowed husband, four sons, one daughter, four orphaned grandchildren, aged mother, two brothers and one sister. The days of her pilgrimage were 59 years, 10 months and 10 days.
The funeral services for Mrs. Behl were held last Friday at Immanuel Lutheran church and cemetery, Rev. Brammer officiating.
