Obituary
W.N. Brown, whose death occurred at his home in this city, March 22, was born in the North of Ireland, in May 1827, remaining there until 12 years of age, when with his parents he removed to America, settling in the Dominion of Canada. Later he removed to New York, where in compamy with his brother he engaged in business. In 1860 he came west, settling at Northfield, Minnesota, where he resided until 1879, when he came to Davenport, this state, and the same year was joined in matrimony, at Clinton to the wife who survives him.
The following year he came to Mitchell county and purchased a farm in Burr Oak township, and for sixteen years followed the pursuit of agriculture. About five years ago he came to Osage and engaged in the sale of agricultural implements, etc., and was so engaged up to the time of his death. He had no relatives in the west except a brother who resides in Manitoba. About January 1, he was attacked with tyhoid malaria, followed by a complication of kidney and liver troubles which culminated in death last Thursday, as stated above. His strict integrity and business capacity won for him the esteem of all, and many deeply sympathize with the wife who survives him, she like her husband having no relatives in the west. The funeral was held at the family residence on Saturday, George Moyer, of Waterloo, a Christadelphian minister, of which denomination Mr. Brown was a member, conducting the services.
