Funeral services were held Monday, April 9, 1984, for Oliver "Mike" Cummings, 74, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, who died Friday, April 6, 1984 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Rev. Loyd Johnson officiated at the service, with burial in the Osage Cemetery. Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Oliver Cummings was born December 4, 1909 in Mitchell county, the son of William and Clara Bird Cummings. He was united in marriage to Viola Jacobson on October 29, 1929 in Osage. He was a lifelong resident of the St. Ansgar area and retired as a farmer and laborer in 1973.

Survivors include his wife, Viola; three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Phylis) Schallock of New Haven, Mrs. George (Leona) Zacharda and Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Bublitz of St. Ansgar; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five sisters: Mrs. Frank (Rena) Tyler of Osage, Mrs. Martha Hahen of Grand Meadow, Minnesota; Mrs. Ellen Enfield of Adams, Minnesota; Mrs. Ed (Francis) Diedrick of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Jesse Bloes of Oxnard, Calif. and one brother, Ralph of Osage.
