OBITUARY:

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Funeral Services for Chester Schossler, 75, who died Sunday at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital at Osage, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Otranto Community Church, Otranto, with burial in the Woodbury Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Ida; two daughters, Mrs. Melbourne Priem of St. Ansgar and Mrs. Harold Clark of Plymouth, Iowa; a brother, Henry of Centralia, Illinois; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Dolvin of Centralia, Mrs. Veriena McCullogh of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Mrs. Clyde of Minneapolis;

Schroeder and Houg Funeral Home in charge.

Chester Schossler Funeral Held November 13

Funeral services for Chester J. Schossler, 85, of Otranto, who died November 10 at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital, were held November 13 at the Otranto Community church with the Rev. Carl Calloway officiating.

Military honors were by American Legion Post No. 618 of Carpenter. Burial was in Woodbury cemetery, Mower county, Minn.

Chester J. Schossler was born to Valentine and Caroline Schossler at New Baden, Ill. September 22, 1893,

On December 1, 1917 he was married to Ida May at Mason City.

To this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Milburn (Betty) Priem, St. Ansgar, and Mrs. Harold (Frances) Clark, Plymouth. He served in the Army during World War I and was a member of the American Legion at Carpenter.

He had resided in Mason City and in Minnesota, but had lived in Otranto for the last 34 years.

He is survived by his wife, his daughters, six grandchildren & two great-grandchildren, one brother, and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother.

ANNIVERSARY--

OTRANTO, IOWA - Mr. and Mrs. Chester Schossler will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday with an "open house" at the REC clubrooms in St. Ansgar from 2 to 5 p. m. A short program will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Miss Ida May and Mr. Schossler were married Dec. 1, 1917, in Mason City. They are long time residents of the Otranto area and Mr. Schossler is a retired carpenter.

They are the parents of two daughters, Mrs. Milburn Priem, St. Ansgar, and Mrs. Harold Clark, Plymouth. There are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
