Joseph James Gerchas – June 19, 1887 – September 24, 1957

GERCHAS FUNERAL TO BE SATURDAY AT RICEVILLE
Osage – Funeral services for Joseph Gerchas, 70, LeRoy, Minnesota, will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Church at Riceville with burial in the Riceville Cemetery.
He died Tuesday at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
Survivors include his wife, the former Helen Rodvil; two daughters, Julia Cook and Helen Martin, both of Cicero, Illinois; three brothers and one sister.

Note***apparently he wasn’t buried in the Rieville Cemetery as the obit says
Theres a memorial and a tombstone picture in the Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City. (see below). He was born in Lithuania.
A son Raymond Joseph Gerchas preceded him in death. He was 18 and drowned in 1949.
