T.E. Taylor, a pastor of the Osage Methodist church about thirty-five years ago, died at his home at Holbrook, Arizona, February 20, of heart disease. His body was brought to Independence, Iowa, for burial, and the funeral was held there Tuesday.
Rev. Mr. Taylor's last pastorate was at Independence, and it was there that he retired from the ministry and devoted himself to breeding shorthorn cattle and duroc jersey hogs. He also wrote and published several religious books.
After his retirement he was Buchanan county's representative in the state legislature; and also was in the state senate from that district. He moved to Arizona in 1924.
Prof. H.D. Taylor, a son, is the principal of East Junior high school, Waterloo, and was in 1917 and 1918 athletic coach in Osage high school. There are two other sons and the widow surviving; Harley and Earl Penney, and Atty W. H. Salisbury are cousins to the deceased.
