Funeral services for Carl Frederick Utesch, 93, were held Friday, June 17, 1994, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville with the Reverend Robert Pfeil officiating. Mr. Utesch passed away Tuesday, June 14, 1994 at the Riceville Community Rest Home.

Carl Frederick Utesch was born June 10, 1901 in Yutan, Nebraska, the son of Henry and Christina Utesch. He married Anna Ring on August 9, 1927 in Riceville, Iowa. He was a retired farmer. he moved from Perryville, Missouri to the Riceville area 64 years ago.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Doris) Page of Tacoma, Washington; two sons, Alfred Utesch and his wife, Kaye, of Argyle, Texas, and Richard Utesch; one daughter-in-law, Shirley Fisera, Osage, Iowa; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two sisters, Ruth Funte of Riceville, Iowa and Alvina Ball of Davenport, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna in May 1980; one son, four brothers and six sisters.

Interment was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Riceville with the Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
