RICEVILLE MAN WATER VICTIM

Osage – The body of Walter Ablie, 30 of Riceville, who drowned in the Wapsipinicon River Thursday afternoon, was found lodged against a bank 200 feet downstream Friday.

Authorities said Ablie, his employer, Norbert Burke, and an 11 year old Burke boy were attempting to swim across the river when Ablie sank and never reappeared.

The widow and two children survive.
