Death of George Ball
Geo. Clinton Ball, of Osage, Iowa, died Tuesday, Nov. 9th, 1897, after an illness of six days.
A widow, four sons, and two daughters are left to mourn his loss. His end was peace. The concluding months and days of Mr. Ball's earthly life were characterized by a growing interest and concern in Spiritual things. He worshipped with the Free Methodists.
George Ball as he was commonly called was born in the state of Indiana, Janury 6, 1840, and moved to the state of Iowa when he was but 13 years of age. Mr. Ball was an old resident of this town and county.
He was familiarly known as a honest man and a Christian. The funeral was held at the family residence. Rev. W. G. Hammer from Chicago preached an impressive sermon from Hebrews 9:27.
