Dies After Five
Years of IllnessFuneral servce was held at Charles City, Monday for Mrs. Irene Vance, 71, who died Friday morning, July 14, 1944, following an illness of five years. Burial was in the Floyd Cemetery.
Mrs. Vance was born in 1873, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Nelson, former Osage residents. Mrs. Vance spent most of her life in Floyd county. The past five years she has been with her daughters in Waterloo, California and Osage.
Surviving are her daughters--Mrs. Melvin Olson, Osage; Mrs. Clarence Klump, Waterloo, and Mrs. Tom Jones and Mrs. A. Mont, in California. One son, Ole Vance of Chicago, also survives; also three sisters-- Mrs. Ray Rowe, Mrs. Ole Rodemaker and Mrs. Frank Lonergan, all of Osage.
