MRS. CHANDLER, FORMERLY OF OSAGE, DIES IN WEST
Osage, Jan. 27 – Friends here received word of the death of Mrs. Bessie McCook Chandler, who was at the head of the Osage schools the 16 years preceding G. H. Sawyer’s term of service as superintendent.
Mrs. Chandler was born at Riceville.
Surviving children are Mrs. Effie Cherrier; Mrs. Dan Sheehan; Mrs. Ralph Featherstone; all of Long Beach, California, where Mrs. Chandler was making her home; and Miss Julia and Charles Chandler, employed in a bank at Los Angeles.

Bessie McCook was born April 6, 1858 in Riceville, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas McCook and Euphemia (Brown) McCook.
She married George Chandler, the son of Jonathan Chandler and Mary (O’Connor) Chandler.
Her husband died in 1927 and was buried in the Osage Cemetery.#3
